KGW News was created as an offshoot of KGW AM radio station by the Oregonian Newspaper. The radio station actually began broadcasting Portland news all the back in 1922. Needless to say, KGW has a long history in this part of the Pacific Northwest, and it has deep roots in the area.
KGW TV also has some notable alumni that includes Ann Curry (formerly of the Today Show before Matt Lauer had her axed), John Stossel (from ABC’s 20/20, and now with FOX), and Colin Cowheard (the controversial sports host, formerly with ESPN, and now with FOX Sports).
